Located in Penang, Malaysia, this modernization project involved upgrading two Toshiba elevators that had been in operation for over 15 years. With a speed of 3.5m/s, these elevators were due for a refresh, and the modernization was scheduled for 2024.
The project was similar to the work we’ve done with KONE elevators, with the encoder positioned externally. Our team was also involved in the on-site commissioning, ensuring everything ran smoothly and to the highest standards.
Now, the elevators are operating flawlessly, and this project has provided us with valuable experience in handling elevator modernization at this scale.
